The objects in this collection are considered personal shrines.
They are sculptural ceramic objects that are beautiful by themselves. They
also serve an additional function.
They are designed to store small mementos, souvenirs or ephemera in
niches or on platforms.
The dwellings (left) are made to hang on the wall or sit on a flat
surface.
There are niches located in the front and back of each piece.
The chairs (right) are free standing sculptures and also provide a
special
place of honor to display interesting objects or mementos.
The bird imagery that is prominent in this collection is inspired by the
following poem:
Hope is the thing with feathers,
that perches in the soul,
and sings the tune without words,
and never stops at all.
